4 Best Games of 2018

It is still pretty early in the year to determine the absolute best games of 2018. Many games that make it to the big time come out over the Holiday Season during Q4. But if we’re focusing only on games that have already been released this year, then here are our top 4 best games of 2018.

This is a survival game set on planet Earth after a storm causes a majority of the human population to disappear.  The game was developed and published by Epic Games, with additional development provided by People Can Fly. The game has won The People’s Voice Award for Best Multiplayer/Competitive Game from the 2018 Webby Awards, and Best Ongoing Game from 2018 Game Critics Awards.

2. God of War:

God of War was developed by Santa Monica Studio, and it was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is number eight in the God of War series, and is based around Kratos and his son Atreus. Kratos is the former Greek God of War. He and his son are attempting to scatter the ashes of Atreus’ mother at the top of the highest peak of the nine realms, and they encounter many trials and tribulations along the way. The game was the fastest selling game in the franchise, and was at the top of all game sales charts for 6 weeks. This is a record for a PlayStation exclusive game.

3. Monster Hunter: World:

Capcom released this action role-playing game in January of 2018. In the game, the player has to become a hunter who tracks and kills monsters in exchange for loot, which can be used to upgrade armor and weapons. The player gets to name and create their own character, whose special attributes are determined by the type of weapon that they are equipped with. The game sold 5 million copies in three days. It is Capcom’s most profitable game of all time.

4. Far Cry 5

This is a First-Person Shooter that is the fifth (obviously) game in a popular franchise. It was published and developed by Ubisoft. The game takes place in a fictional county in Montana, where a radical preacher and cult-leader named Joseph Seed is wreaking havoc and basically holding the town hostage. Players take on the role of a deputy-sheriff who is sent to arrest Seed, though the plan quickly goes off the rails. The game was the fastest selling in its’ franchise, and sold more than double the sales of Far Cry 4.

These are the top 4 games of 2018 so far, but there seems to be plenty to look forward to as Q4 approaches. Until then, gamers everywhere have plenty to keep them occupied.
